With the FERA colours emblazoned on its sails, the Dufour 44 Performance was once again on the top step of the podium this year.
Now in its third year, the ‘Costa Etrusca Trophy 2023/2024’ was once again won by the Gioc’Onda2 team. On the podium was the crew that took part in the last leg: Luigi Pennisi, Mirko Grazzini, Federico Di Miele, Alessio Faraoni, Marzo Iozzelli, Laura Semini, Roberto Puccetti and Marina Pescini.
The third edition of the Trophy started on 22 October 2023, and it is the result of a collaboration between the Salivoli Marina Yacht Club and the Lega Navale Italiana, Florence-Prato section and Pistoia branch. The chosen format, that of the Veleggiata, allows all boats to participate without having to obtain tonnage certificates.
The eight stages of the Trophy were held in the stretch of water in front of Salivoli Marina (dates 2023: 2/10 – 5/11 – 19/11 – 3/12 and 2024: 4/02 – 18/02 – 3/03 – 17/03) and saw Gioc’Onda2 immediately take the lead.
Sails sporting the FERA logo certainly brought good luck to Amica Vela’s ‘Dufour 44 Performance’ (www.amicavela.it), which was always in the lead in its category and finished fifth overall.
The ‘Amica Vela’ Amateur Sports Association of Cecina (LI), was established in 2008 thanks to an initiative by a group of friends who are passionate about the sea and sailing. It carries out its activities with the aim of promoting sailing and yachting via sailing courses and regattas. Its president, Roberto Puccetti, is the coordinator of the national sailing sector of the ACSI (Associazione Cultura, Sport e Tempo Libero – Association for Culture, Sport and Free Time – https://www.acsi.it/).
“Wind is an integral part of my life,” said Luigi Pennisi, Manager of the FERA Group, “and being a part of the Gioc’Onda2 team is a wonderful experience, because you experience how fundamental it is to all work together to achieve a goal. Once again this year we provided sails for the Gioc’Onda2 regatta, one of the many initiatives we support at FERA, for an increasingly sustainable future, also thanks to the energy we produce from renewable sources”.
