Naso di Gatto Wind Farm

Information about
the wind farm

With its four 2.3 MW ENERCON E82 wind turbines, and an installed total power of 9.2 MW, in 2012 Naso di Gatto became the largest wind farm in Liguria. It is located in a wooded area crossed by paths on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri.

The plant is situated on the border between three municipalities: Savona, Cairo Montenotte and Albissola Superiore, near Monte San Giorgio, in a landscape typical of the Ligurian hinterland, characterised by mixed deciduous and single species beech woods.

Part of the road network within the wind farm includes a beautiful part of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, which we have restored to enhance the landscape and provide a safe route.

Naso di Gatto was built in an area that was the first in Italy to welcome Napoleon Bonaparte and the ideas that, thanks to him, brought a breath of social and cultural modernisation.

Like Napoleon two centuries ago, Naso di Gatto today embraces modernisation and innovation. Financed by the two largest banks in France and Italy, and built with German technology, Naso di Gatto represents a new peaceful, innovative and ecological vision of the union of Europe.

In 2021, Legambiente included the Stella plant in its ‘Tourist Guide to Wind Farms’.
