Libeccio, a special purpose vehicle of Fabbrica Energie Rinnovabili Alternative (FERA) and Byom, has ordered 45 MW for the “Vento di Vino 2” wind farm in Mazara del Vallo, Trapani, Italy.
The contract includes the supply and installation of seven Enventus V162-6.4 MW wind turbines and an 18-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract.
“We are really glad to have signed this new contract, which was negotiated, for technical aspects, by Luigi Pennisi, FERA Group Head of Construction and Plant Management and, for legal matters, by Antonio Schiavo, member of the board of LIBECCIO, and partner of legal firm Koiné Società tra Avvocati s.r.l” says Charlotte Stelling, CFO FERA Group and CEO of Libeccio.
“I would like to thank Libeccio for the trust placed in Vestas’ EnVentus solutions. “The EnVentus turbines’ different heights will allow us to tap into stronger more constants winds, maximising the production of clean electricity at the site,” said Vestas Italy General Manager, Francesco Amati.
Once operational, the wind park will play a significant role in supporting the decarbonization goals of the European Green Deal and REPowerEU. The new energy plantill produce clean energy for 56,000 Sicilian households and prevent 40,700 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere per year. This is equivalent to removing 27,500 European passenger cars from the road every year.
Turbine delivery is expected for the third quarter of 2025 whilst commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2026.
The order reinforces Vestas’ leadership in the country’s wind energy market, where it has installed over 5.6 GW since 1991.
